Webinar: Emerging Trends Briefing

ABOUT THE SESSION

We are delighted to introduce a new series on the global economy and key trends that impact business.  The series is aimed at continually enhancing and updating the knowledge base of our director and senior business leader community and will take place every six months. 

The first edition will cover current and emerging economic and geopolitical megatrends such as:

  • Global economic conditions after pandemic, war in Ukraine and inflation
  • What a multi-polar world might mean for Myanmar business
  • Global supply chain impacts from the friendly-shoring, nearshoring, reshoring trend
  • Energy security, climate change, energy transition
  • The latest debates in the rise of AI

Join MIoD’s Executive Director, Daw Thiri Thant Mon as she provides an overview of these topics.  There will also be an opportunity to engage in group discussion and Q&A at the end of the presentation.  Suggestions and requests for future topics are welcomed.

SPEAKER

Thiri Thant Mon is the Head of ESG for the Fixed Income Division EMEA at Morgan Stanley, a leading global investment bank.  She also serves as Executive Director of the Myanmar Institute of Directors, board member of British Chamber of Commerce Myanmar and trustee for Turquoise Mountain Foundation, a UK charity that focuses on heritage preservation countries such as Afghanistan and Myanmar.  She has held a number of leadership and board roles over her 20-year career as a finance and capital markets professional.

She holds a BA in Economics from William & Mary, an MBA from the London Business School, and a Director Certification Diploma from the Thai Institute of Directors.
