Dr. Thaung Han

Dr. Thaung Han is a senior business leader, strategist, educator, and philanthropist with extensive leadership experience across corporate management, banking, energy, investment, infrastructure, manufacturing, hospitality, and social development.

He previously served as Group CEO of Max Myanmar Group and currently acts as Senior Advisor to Max Myanmar Holding. Over the course of his career, he also served as Managing Director of AYA Bank, President & CEO of Myanmar Citizens Bank, and Chairperson of the Myanmar Institute of Banking, contributing to the development of Myanmar’s banking and financial sector. He is currently Chairperson of Ayeyarwaddy Foundation, supporting humanitarian, educational, and community development initiatives.

In academia, he serves as Senior Professor of Practice at Strategy First International College, bridging practical leadership experience with management education. Dr. Thaung Han is also a Founder of Myanmar Tokiwa JV Corporation and Han Linn Co., Ltd., with interests in export-import, and manufacturing of cosmetic and wooden pencil.

He holds an MBBS, MBA (Purdue), EMBA, DBL and PhD in International Business from University of Texas at El Paso.
