About the Leadership Series

The MIoD Leadership Series is designed to provide insights, knowledge and thought leadership to enable board directors and senior management to stay abreast of evolving challenges and trends and pursue continual learning to remain effective leaders.

We are delighted to announce that the twelfth instalment of this series will be delivered by the well-known and well-respected Prof. Dr. Aung Tun Thet on the topic of “Rethinking Leadership”.

 

About the Webinar

Traditional hierarchical models of leadership are no longer relevant in today’s fast paced environment. It is essential for organizations to rethink and challenge orthodox notions of leadership. This involves a shift in leadership approaches by recognizing the diverse and collective intelligence of its members. It requires humility and letting go of perfection

The presentation will examine the various strands in the rethinking of leadership approaches.

 

Speaker’s Profile

Prof. Dr. Aung Tun Thet

Professor Dr. Aung Tun Thet is a Founding Patron of the Myanmar Institute of Directors and an Advisor to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI).

He is Professor Emeritus at Yangon University of Economics, a Visiting Professor at Payap University in Chiangmai, Thailand as well as an Honorary Professor at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. He is a Former Principal Officer, UN Systems Staff College in Turin, Italy.

Professor Dr. Aung Tun Thet holds a number of degrees including B.Com. (YGN); Post Graduate Diploma in Management Studies (Brighton, UK): M.Sc. (Warwick, UK); Ph.D. (UMIST, UK); Post-doctoral Fellow (Germany).
