Learning Series: Board/Company Secretary Program 4th Batch

The ๐๐๐ญ๐๐ก ๐ ๐จ๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐จ๐๐ซ๐/๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐๐ง๐ฒ ๐๐๐๐ซ๐๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ฒ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐๐ฆ begun on 28th June 2022 as 1.5 days in-person program at Melia Yangon. The ๐๐ก๐๐ข๐ซ ๐จ๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐๐จ๐โ๐ฌ ๐๐๐๐ซ๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ๐ญ๐๐ kicked off an Opening Remarks.

The sessions then started with the โ๐๐ง๐ญ๐ซ๐จ๐๐ฎ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐ญ๐จ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐๐ญ๐ ๐๐จ๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ง๐๐ง๐๐ (๐๐)โ which explained the basics of corporate governance with the framework followed by โ๐๐ก๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐ฅ ๐
๐ซ๐๐ฆ๐๐ฐ๐จ๐ซ๐ค ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ข๐๐ง๐๐ ๐ข๐ง ๐๐ฒ๐๐ง๐ฆ๐๐ซโ presenting Directors Duties according to MCL with the reporting and disclosure. The session later continued with โBuilding an Effective Boardโ focusing on Board Composition, Roles, Committees and Evaluations.

Thenceforth, the attendees learned โ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ ๐จ๐ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐๐ญ๐ ๐๐๐๐ซ๐๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ฒโ and โ๐๐ฎ๐ง๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ง ๐๐๐๐ข๐๐ข๐๐ง๐ญ ๐๐จ๐๐ซ๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ฎ๐๐๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ ๐๐๐๐ฌโ useful in developing a Board Charter and Policies, Board working procedures, Board Meeting Agenda & Minutes, Review of Board Packs and Running Member Meetings (AGMs) including during COVID
The sessions were delivered in case studies materials with interactive discussions

๐๐๐ฒ ๐ of Board/Company Secretary Program continued on 29๐ต๐ฉ ๐๐ถ๐ฏ๐ฆ 2022 with theโ๐๐จ๐จ๐ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐๐ญ๐ ๐ ๐จ๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ง๐๐ง๐๐ ๐ง๐๐๐๐ฌ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ ๐๐จ๐๐ซ๐ ๐๐๐๐ซ๐๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐ฌ: ๐ ๐๐จ๐ง๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐ฐ๐ข๐ญ๐ก ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐ซ๐๐ ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐๐ญ๐จ๐ซโ followed by a ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐๐ญ๐๐๐ฅ๐ ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง on Best Practices and Company Secretary Roles on the public listed and non-listed companies. The attendees later review โ๐๐๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐๐ญ๐๐ฌ ๐๐ง๐ ๐ซ๐๐๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐๐ ๐ฆ๐๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐ฅ๐ฌโ, useful and required by the board secretary, and worked together on the case study.
