This year the MIoD will hold it’s inaugural Anual General Meeting to elect a board of directors who will govern our Association which is now approaching 200 members. Attached you will find a Director Nomination Form with instructions for those wishing to nominate themselves to participate on the board. The Board of Directors is responsible for setting the strategy and policies of the MIoD, and to ensure that the Association achieves its mission and objectives. MIoD’s vision is to be the pioneering and leading organisation in supporting the professional development of directors with a focus on improving the effectiveness of their boards and board committees.

Myanmar Institute of Directors is promoting corporate governance standards and best practices in Myanmar. MPE&VCA organized a course on “The Basics of Corporate Governance” in early December to help executives improve their understanding of the importance of sound corporate governance processes and structures in a company. We acknowledge and thank Myanmar Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (MPE&VCA) for organizing Awareness Session with MIoD.

An insightful discussion through presentation and discussion in the event namely “?????????? ???? ?????????? – ?? ???? ???????? ?????????” organized by BritCham and member organizations.

Vicky Bowman (Director of Myanmar Centre for Responsible Business – MCRB cum BoD of MIoD) and Ma Cherry Trivedi (CEO of MIoD cum Founder/Managing Director of Ayuroma Advisory International Pte., Ltd) participated together as speakers and identifying all the areas where businesses are underprepared and at risk from various threats.

Myanmar IOD launched the first of many Programs (Director Certification Program) in Mandalay with an overwhelming attendance of Mandalay businesses and Mandalay DICA along with DICA experts from Yangon on August 5th evening at Hilton Mandalay Hotel.

The networking session was attended by over 80 people and the first DCP (Director Certification Program) which will be conducted from 6th – 8th August 2019 will have over 30 registrants for the first batch in Mandalay.
The session was opened by Ma Cherry Trivedi, CEO of MIOD, Anar Aliyev from IFC – International Finance Corporation and Peter Brimble from DaNa FacilityAung Myat Khaing from MIOD team acted as master of ceremony.

MIoD conducted Consultation and Coordination meeting with MRCCI, Private Sector from Mandalay Region at 1:00 PM on 26th July 2019. During the meeting U Aung Myat Khaing, Head of Operation and Business Development from MIoD met with U Thet Htun Lin, Joint Secretary and Daw Ni Ni Tun, Joint Auditor from MRCCI to discus about launching Business Management BoD Training at Mandalay Hilton Hotel on 6th August 2019.
