As geopolitical tides shift and AI accelerates, the boardroom is no longer a forum oversight; it is a cockpit for navigating unprecedented change. Across Southeast Asia, directors are asking: How do we capture short-term gains amid volatility while advancing value-up priorities, strengthening market valuation, and sustaining long-term investor trust – and are our governance models fit for the decade ahead?

The ASEAN IOD Network is launching a landmark study to move beyond anecdotes and capture the true pulse of leadership, drawing on the lived experience of C-Suite leaders and board members shaping the future of ASEAN business. Our goal: to understand how boards across the region are navigating disruption, setting priorities, and preparing for what’s next.

Why your participation matters

Your insights will directly contribute to a regional benchmark on:

  • A new board paradigm: Boards are facing a fundamental paradigm shift – from protecting value to actively shaping valuation, resilience, and long-term investor trust.
  • Focus for 2026 and beyond: Embedding long-term value creation principles within strategy, governance, and performance targets through more strategic agendas
  • Emerging best practices: Bringing local & regional leading practices to the fore, highlighting how boards are strengthening their impact and effectiveness

On 28 February 2026, the Myanmar Institute of Directors (MIoD) successfully conducted Batch 1 of the Corporate Citizenship for Future Leaders program at Inya Lake Hotel.

Designed for mid- to senior-level managers, this one-day program focused on strengthening ownership, accountability, structured communication, cross-functional collaboration, and risk awareness in everyday work. Through practical case studies, group discussions, and self-reflection, participants explored how governance starts with individual behaviour — not just policies.

Our sincere thanks to our dedicated faculties — Dr. Aye Aye Mar, Daw Nandar Thaung, and Daw Thuzar Win — for their valuable insights and guidance.

Congratulations to all Batch 1 participants for your active engagement and commitment to building principled, high-performing organisations.
