U Aung Zaw Naing

U Aung Zaw Naing is Chairman of MIoD’s interim Board of Directors. He is Group Chief Executive Officer of Shwe Taung responsible for setting the company’s strategic direction and overseeing its performance. He held various key positions at Shwe Taung before assuming his current role. Under his leadership, Shwe Taung completed some of Myanmar’s largest and most challenging projects, including the Baluchaung No.3 hydropower plant; the Myanmar Radio & Television Building; Ruby Hall, a 60,000-square-meter venue for the 2014 ASEAN Summit; and Junction City, a 260,000-square-meter world-class integrated development in downtown Yangon. He also led Shwe Taung’s entry into new business areas such as insurance, finance, and food and beverage.

He served as Chairman of the Myanmar Martial Arts Federation under the Ministry of Sports. The Federation achieved phenomenal success in 2013 at the 27th Southeast Asian Games, clinching nine gold medals for Myanmar.
