About the Leadership Series

The MIoD Leadership Series is designed to provide insights, knowledge and thought leadership to enable board directors and senior management to stay abreast of evolving challenges and trends and pursue continual learning to remain effective leaders.

We are delighted to announce that the fifteenth instalment of this series will be delivered by the well-known and well-respected Prof. Dr. Aung Tun Thet on the topic of “Leading with Heart”.

About the Webinar

Leadership is often painted as a picture of steely resolve and unwavering control. However, the truth is that the true key to unlocking ones’ leadership potential lies not in their head, but in their heart. It’s about Emotional Intelligence (EI), the ability to understand and manage one’s own emotions, as well as those of others.

We recently hosted a panel discussion, “𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗧𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲,” bringing together directors and senior leaders to talk about how Audit Committees can go beyond compliance and provide real, effective oversight.

We explored why this topic matters now from growing regulatory scrutiny to rising expectations for boards and shared practical insights across three key themes: the true role of Audit Committees, financial governance in practice, and working effectively with management and auditors.

Our speakers also offered tips on spotting early warning signs, challenging management constructively, and what makes an Audit Committee Chair truly effective.

A big thank you to our speakers and over 70 attendees who joined us for a lively and insightful discussion!
